At the lowest point in Switzerland, Lake Maggiore at 193 metres above sea level, Ticino already borders the Lombard hilly landscape in the south. In the north, it counts mountain villages up to 1500 metres and peaks over 3000 metres – one of the most geographically diverse Swiss cantons.
